Terms and Conditions

Rovedar is a nonprofit organization dedicated to science communication. As part of our mission, rovedar manages various journal websites, including subdomains, such as jvpp.rovedar.com. We offer free access to the journals’ content to the public through these websites of Rovedar journal. By accessing and using our websites, you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions, which form a contractual agreement between you and Rovedar. Your use of Rovedar contents signifies your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Ownership

The Rovedar websites, including the software, submission programming interfaces, content, and trademarks associated with the Rovedar, are the property of Rovedar. These elements are internationally protected by intellectual property rights and laws in Turkey. Nothing stated in this document shall be interpreted or construed, either implicitly or otherwise, any license or right under any trademark, copyright, or patent of Rovedar or any third party. All rights are reserved, except as explicitly mentioned in these Terms and Conditions.

License to Use Journal Articles and Related Content

Unless stated otherwise, the articles and journal content published by Rovedar on the Rovedar websites are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY 4.0). This license allows you to freely copy, reproduce, and distribute the articles and related content for noncommercial purposes, provided you cite the original source in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

Impermissible Uses

You agree to use the Rovedar websites only for lawful purposes and in a manner that respects the rights of others and does not infringe the use of the Rovedar websites by any third party. This includes refraining from any actions that are unlawful, harassing, or that may cause distress or inconvenience to others, as well as the transmission of obscene or offensive content on the website. As a condition of using the Rovedar websites, you commit not to:

  1. Upload, email, post, transmit, or share any information, materials, or content that is illegal, threatening, abusive, harmful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or pornographic, or that infringes on another person’s rights, including intellectual property rights. Additionally, you must not engage in unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotion, or any form of solicitation.
  2. Pretend to be someone else or falsely claim of an affiliation with a person or institution. You must not obtain, collect, store, or manipulate personal information about other users.
  3. Modify, adapt, or attempt to compromise the security of the Rovedar websites or falsely suggest an association with another websites.

Use the Rovedar websites for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. When using the Rovedar websites, you must not violate any Turkish laws or the laws in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to copyright laws.

Violation of Terms and Conditions

If you violate these Terms and Conditions, Rovedar has the authority to limit, suspend, or terminate your access to and use of the Rovedar websites without prior notice. Rovedar also reserves the right to investigate and take legal action against any violations to the fullest extent permitted by the law. Rovedar may collaborate with law enforcement authorities in prosecuting users who breach these Terms and Conditions. While Rovedar is not obligated to pre-screen or monitor your usage of the Rovedar websites, it retains the right to do so. You acknowledge and agree that, at its sole discretion, Rovedar may remove or delete any entries, information, materials, or content that violates these Terms and Conditions or is deemed objectionable.

Disclaimer of Warranty

The content of Rovedar websites, including  articles, information, data, names, images, pictures, logos, and icons provided by Rovedar or third parties, are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” There are no representations or endorsements made, and no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of satisfactory quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security, completeness, and accuracy.

Nothing on the Rovedar websites should be considered medical or health advice. Rovedar strongly advises you to independently verify any medical or health advice or treatment information that you choose to rely on. Rovedar, its editors, employees, agents, and funders, as well as its software vendors, developers, or other consultants working on the Rovedar websites, do not guarantee that the Rovedar websites and content will be uninterrupted or error-free. They do not warrant that defects will be corrected or that the Rovedar websites or the server making them available are free of viruses or bugs. Additionally, they do not represent that the materials are fully functional, accurate, or reliable.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will the Rovedar Parties, developers or other consultants working on the Rovedar websites be liable for any losses, damages, liabilities, costs or claims including, without limitation, direct, indirect, punative or consequential damages, and loss of use, data or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Rovedar websites, its Software, or any content on its sites or linked sources, whether in action of contract, negligence or otherwise. In no event shall the liability of the Rovedar Parties, developers, or other consultants exceed the amount paid by you to Rovedar hereunder in the proceeding twelve months (other than any indemnity payment).

Indemnity

You are solely responsible for your actions while using the Rovedar websites, including any internet costs incurred in accessing the websites. You agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and, at Rovedar’s discretion, defend the Rovedar Parties, developers, consultants, or other individuals working on the Rovedar websites from any liability, damage, loss, cost, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) associated with your use of the Rovedar websites. This includes, but is not limited to, its software,  and content. You are responsible for the results of any actions you take based on the material contained on the Rovedar websites.

You are also responsible for any consequences arising from the following:

  1. Your failure to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Unlawful disclosure, alteration, or interference, by any person, with the content of any transmission made by you or on your behalf via a public telecommunication system, or information related to such transmission, or the use of such system by any person.
  3. Any act or omission by you constituting a breach of copyright, infringement of trademark rights, or violation of any other intellectual property rights belonging to any other person, or any allegation of such actions.

Interactive Feature

While using the Rovedar websites, you may offer feedback to Rovedar, such as suggestions, observations, errors, problems, defects, or annotations related to the Rovedar websites and journal content. By providing such feedback, you grant Rovedar a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable, perpetual, and sub-licensable, non-exclusive right to use, modify, copy, distribute, display, perform, create derivative works from, and exploit all such feedback and annotations. Additionally, content provided by authors for submission is subject to the Author Guide and Policies.

Infringement

If you believe that your work has been copied in a manner that constitutes copyright infringement or that your intellectual property rights have been otherwise violated, please notify us via info@rovedar.com.

Links to Other Websites and Resources

Rovedar websites may contain links to other websites or resources. Since Rovedar has no control over these external sites and resources, you acknowledge and agree that Rovedar is not responsible for the availability of such external websites or resources. Rovedar does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any materials found on or available from these websites or resources.

Any business dealings you have with external websites or resources, including payment and delivery of related goods or services, as well as any warranties, conditions, or other terms associated with such dealings, are solely between you and the third party involved. You further acknowledge and agree that the Rovedar Parties shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or resource.

Modifications to Rovedar website and Terms and Conditions

Rovedar reserves the right to modify or discontinue, either temporarily or permanently, any of the Rovedar websites or any part thereof, with or without notice, at any time. Additionally, Rovedar has the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting the changes online. It is your responsibility to regularly review the information posted online to receive timely notice of any such changes. Your continued use of the Rovedar websites after changes are posted signifies your acceptance of this agreement as modified by the posted changes.

Additional Terms for Certain Features

Certain parts of the Rovedar websites may require registration and may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which will be provided for you to read at the time of registration, especially if you register to use specific features or submit articles. These additional terms and conditions are considered part of this agreement. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and specific terms and conditions found elsewhere on the Rovedar websites related to specific material, the latter shall prevail.

During registration (if active), you may be prompted to select a password. It is your sole responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of your password and any activities conducted under your password. You must promptly inform Rovedar of any known or suspected unauthorized use of your account or password and take reasonable steps to prevent such use.

General Points

Any forbearance or indulgence by Rovedar in enforcing any provision in these Terms and Conditions shall not affect Rovedar’s right of enforcement and any waiver of any breach shall not operate as a waiver of any subsequent or continuing breach. If any of these Terms and Conditions are deemed illegal, invalid, or unenforceable under the laws of any state or country in which these Terms and Conditions are intended to be effective, the affected provision shall be removed from the clause. The remaining terms and conditions will remain valid, enforceable, and binding.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Turkey. In case of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and specific terms found elsewhere on the Rovedar websites related to specific material, the latter shall prevail.
