Copyright
Authors who publish in Rovedar agree to the following terms:
a. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal.
b. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
c. Authors are required to make sure submitted content does not infringe third-party copyright. Authors must obtain permission to reproduce any third-party material for online – and print, if applicable – publication in perpetuity. It is also the authors’ responsibility to include any acknowledgments requested by copyright holders, and to mark clearly third-party material used with permission, material that has separate licensing terms, and material used under exceptions or limitations to copyright.
Reproducing Published Material from other Publishers
Authors are required to obtain permission when reproducing any published material such as figures, schemes, tables, or text extracts if they do not own the copyright or if the material is not in the public domain. Permission should be sought from the copyright holder, typically the Publisher (refer to the imprint of the individual publications for details).
Permission is necessary for:
- Works published by other Publishers where the authors did not retain copyright.
- Substantial parts of text from anyone’s works or a series of works.
- Use of unaltered or slightly modified Tables, Graphs, Charts, Schemes, and Artworks.
- Photographs without copyright ownership.
Permission is not required for:
- Reconstructing tables with data already published elsewhere. In this case, the original source must be cited as “Data from…” or “Adapted from…”.
- Reasonably short quotes, considered fair use and not requiring permission.
- Graphs, Charts, Schemes, and Artworks are completely redrawn by the authors and significantly changed beyond recognition.
To avoid publication delays, authors should initiate the permission process early. If there is any uncertainty about copyright, authors should apply for permission. The Asian Network for Scientific Information cannot publish materials from other publications without proper authorization.
The copyright holder may provide specific instructions for acknowledgment. If not, authors should use the following style: “Reproduced with permission from [author], [book/journal title]; published by [publisher], [year].” This acknowledgment should be placed at the end of the caption of the Table, Figure, or Scheme.
